Yesterday it was announced that software deployment and integration platform for DevOps, Circle Internet Services Inc. have had a late stage $56 million funding round.
This funding round raises the total amount raised by CircleCI to $115.5 million.

Founded in 2011, CircleCI uses intelligent automation and delivery tools to give enterprise DevOps teams an advantage when it comes to building, testing, deploying and integrating new software. “Our accelerated pace of change over the last 18 months reflects our industry as a whole: Software development is increasingly complex, fragmented and difficult to map,” said Chief Executive Jim Rose.

From a team of 120 to CircleCI is now 250 strong, and more than 50 are expected to be hired on before the end of 2019. The monthly software job count run by CircleCI has also jumped to over 30 million, up from 7 million in January 2018. Rose has also been quoted stating that he believes that the trend of digital transformation is still changing how businesses do software development, and he said platforms such as CircleCI are already a big part of that transformation.

“Businesses are realizing that software, and applications, are the primary interface between themselves and their customers and partners,” said Rose. “To do that, businesses have realized they need to sign on with continuous delivery and integration.”
